I have experience at all with TTB, but I like Stampede a decent bit.

A cantripping Giant Growth seems sick - I would play that.

For what it's worth, it is probably the best Plummet variant ever.

If it could hit any creature I'd be all over it.

It's sort of like an Anticipate with a hybrid cost, that also has a really badly costed Recoil attached to it if that kind of effect is more useful.

I think the card is really interesting due to it's great mana flexibility, but I don't think I can fit it into Dimir.

Seems a lot worse than Dictate of Heliod to me.

The dictate makes my 1/1s into 3/3 instead of angels, sure, but it also:

-Affects tokens created before the enchantment hit.
    -Affects non-token creatures.
-Has flash and can be used as a pretty disgusting combat trick sometimes.

Well, I have literally no way of fitting this in I don't think, but other medium to larger cubes might? If the creature dies, you can still cast the exiled cards, so that's nice. Picking from three also seems extra good when mana is not a concern.

A slam dunk at 1U should is not just fringe playable at UU, imo. It's certainly somewhat worse because of that, but that doesn't suddenly make it unplayable.
This kind of gets to the heart of the issue. I agree that a super allstar for 1C is usually at least pretty well worth considering for CC. The reason this card loses so much due it's cost is that it doesn't just cost UU. In the absolute best case scenario, this card's colored mana cost is XUU, where X a non-blue color.

However, for most of my blue decks, I also run blue instants and sorceries, in which case I need access to at least UUU to reliably target them.

    I think the bottom line, at least for me, is that;

    1. This card is not powerful enough to justify needing reliable access to triple blue.

    2. This card becomes too weak of a cube card if I can't reliably target most of the spells that I play in my deck.

My point is that even if the stats say I need ten blue sources to reliably cast a UU spell on turn four, how often will that actually come up in game play if I only run eight sources for my one UU card? How often will I be sitting on Counterspell on turn four with only one blue source in play?
This confuses me? "Reliable" in wtwlf's article meant 75% of the time unless I'm mistaken. So in this example, you would be sitting with a counterspell and not enough blue mana some amount greater than 25% of the time.

It's an embarrassment of riches, isn't it?

Out of the cards I mentioned, I like Silumgar and tog the least. But they are all super close, and I feel like I can swap between all those cards if I felt like it.

I'd at least consider this card very strongly at 1U. I run unpowered, so it maybe doesn't seem like a slam dunk even then. But currently I'm writing this card off completely, and most of why is the mana cost.

I feel like this card is just on the cusp of being a slam dunk. Like, if he had trample or something it'd be a done deal.

As it is though, I think this still has the potential to be great.

Green really needs strong proactive 4 and 3 drops, and green 4-s have been somewhat lacking in this regard in my experience.

This card is pretty sweet but there is literally no way I can fit this into my cube.

Selesnya is a guild stacked to the brim with all stars. White fives are bonkers. Green fives are not far behind.

Card is great, just outclassed IMO.

Yeah that makes no sense to me. If I'm putting a UU card into my cube deck, I'm probably also putting other blue cards into my deck.

On topic; I run an unpowered cube, so I'm at least 80% sure I have no interest in this card.

I suppose calling it tier two might be a bit misleading, since my tier 1 (aka the cards I would 100% guaranteed play over Scarab God) consist of Baleful Strix and Creeping Tar Pit.

In my experience, Silumgar, Hostage Taker, Scarab God and Psychatog are all about as strong. I think this card is a contender to join that pile.

This card is unbelievably good. The thing about removal in cube, is that the right removal spell it the right time can be 100% worth an increase in mana cost. There are times when I'll be begging to kill an arifact (or an Ugin!) for a measly price of 2R.

When I don't need the removal, the bear body is just fine for putting on some pressure, or threatening to snipe a chump blocker to let my haymaker through. This kind of versatility is well worth the extra mana.
