If you happen to have delirium on turn 5, maybe. I think it's cute but not good enough. Maybe even bad. The bottom line is we need to kill everything they play while being aggressive enough to keep them on defensive. I'm not sure how we do that since almost everything they play is evasive. I'm actually beginning to think all the tribal decks are bad matches for Jund straight up.

    1. I don't think we need Maelstrom Pulse and if I'm very honest I don't like it very much. I played it quite a bit and it feels clunky and slow, something you don't want now. We have Trophy to deal with whatever we need and the rest should be cheaper removal since format is faster and Trophy isn't early game removal. I'm not against Pulse but I think we're better without it. If control becomes more popular against then it might be worth to play it since it's always good to have additional removal for their planeswalkers but for now we can survive without it.

    2. I'm on 3 Fulminator Mage. Tron is still an uphill battle and Fulminator Mage is good against other big mana and some other decks too. I think that 3 is the right number.

    3. Playing less than 4 LoTV seemed like a mistake in the past but she isn't very good in the current metagame so playing less than 4 isn't mistake anymore but it's actually correct most of the time unless you expect lots of big mana and combo decks. 3/1 split with LtLH seems to be the best configuration.

    4. I was thinking about cutting Ancient Grudge not long time ago (as weird as it sounds to play zero copies of it in the Jund's sb) but considering Hardened Scales and KCI perforamce I think we need it. I'm fine with playing one copy but wouldn't cut it entirely.

    5. Ipersonally like Surgical because it's quite versatile. It can act as a gy hate (although it isn't otherwise) against Dredge, is good against combo and can be useful against big mana decks along with Trophy.

What does your current list look like?

I've also wanted to tinker with it, but I just haven't had the time. On the surface, it doesn't really fix anything, but the modes just generally seem useful.

Sorry. I've been busy and forgetful.

I've been quite happy with my list. This deck plays magic the way I love to play magic (Well, almost. GB mirrors are miserable though). Honestly, I only put the second Teferi back in because I was told I was being ridiculous about my current disdain for Teferi (which is inaccurate). I just feel like this isn't the metagame for our hero. Also, Niv Mizzet has been straight up nuts! Even as a 1-of, it has ended games so quickly that I keep wondering why I don't have two of them in the main deck.

All of that aside, it's amazing how much of this Standard feels like you're playing Modern-level power.

While I generally agree with the reddit report, I think you're dead wrong if you think adding a couple more pieces of graveyard hate, Kalitas or big mana hate is going to statistically shift that matchup out of the red and into the black. The problem is that black-midrange strategies are just bad against what we're seeing now. We have a very hard time slowing most of them down, except KCI.

Discard against Living End seems subpar, but it does stop Nihil Spellbomb. Still seems weird to me.

To be fair, many games I've won against Living End involves hand disruption taking one of their Cascade spells and beating down with Goyf or fatty. Grave hate cards aren't much stronger than hand disruption and a clock with the answers they run for it.

You're absolutely correct. That's still my gameplan if I come across that deck. It just doesn't seem like a good reason to have either Leyline in the main deck of Living End.

I am definitely on 4 Opt, but I'm playing Jeskai these days.

I never said Teferi is dead. The problem is that there are so many situations where dropping a Teferi doesn't really help. More often than not, you have to have already stabilized before you can drop it. It brings about a similar feeling of Jace, the Mind Sculptor in Modern They're uber powerful if you can get to the point where you can untap with it, but you have to get to that point! I've been playing other blue control builds with less copies of Teferi and more cantrips and control elements. It's been working really well so far.

Why would Living End play Leyline of Sanctity in the main deck?

This is going to sound blasphemous, but I think Teferi, Hero of Dominaria isn't that good in current Standard.

I am actually quite happy about that finish as it states a helpful example. In general it helps to showcase that finishes alone aren't what matters. Its generally difficult to explain when we are talking about subtle differences which are not that clear upon first sight. But since this list is pretty clearly greedy, it makes a good case for pointing out that finisher arent everything.

The problem is that this example smacks most people in the face. The examples you generally talk about tend to be more subtle. Also, a lot of people just don't "believe in math."

Obviously having a mana dork in your build would influence your curve.

Most dont keep "a majority" of their removal. They keep around 3 pieces of creature removal at the most. Most decks are either pressuring your life total or your hand so there's little reason to worry about the board. Either your opponent's game plan works or you get to untap with (fill in the blank) finisher or you fall behind. It's not as if this deck is getting to do midrange fights.

I'm not currently playing Maelstrom Pulse at all.

EDIT: Ah ok. I would have to cut a Trophy.
