Thanks for all the opinions guys! I am relatively new to the cubing world, as I have only begun cubing with it in August. So, bear with me with some of my attempted changes! I think running another counterspell might be good over the Mizzium Skin, whether it be Negate, Spell Pierce, or Remand, etc.
As for the other changes, I might draft my cube tonight with these changes just to see what happens, and then go from there!
We bear with you, that's not the point. Your cube, your playgroup, your decision. Read our suggestions not as "omg, ur such a n00b", but as "hmm... you could possibly get better results with xyz, why don't you try this out". But on the other hand, going against the hive mind can let you discover things you wouldn't have and could let you add your new discovery to said hive mind, thus enlightening us all.
Pathos aside, do whatever you think is best. You might draft the anti-red deck in one draft to see if it works. Not Circle of Protection: Red, but Kraken Hatchling and friends.
I don't think counterspells à la Negate are particulary good against red. Just sayin'. Remand, however, is cool.
Specialities about the cube: U tempo, B aggro, R slow-ish are supported. G aggro is not.
Currently trying to support tokens in all colors but blue, in different ways: W pumps them, B sacrifices them, R suicides them, G has decent-sized ones.

*literal C/U definition according to gatherer
**some cards are banned. Library of Alexandria, Land Tax, Sol Ring.
Harm's Way is another good protection spell. I think it and Shelter are the only 2 I run.
Honor guard can be a beating. After adding it due to Leelue's suggestion I have seen it take over so many games.
I really am down on walls that are just walls for blocking sake. I think Hover Barrier, Fog Bank, and Guard Gomazoa are all maybe good enough but they just don't really do anything. I would rather play a 2/2 and trade than an 0/4 and block.

I write about cube and run cube drafts on magic online.
Hey everyone. I was able to get a 6-man draft in last night. With all the changes I made the other day, I was really hoping to see a deck without red win the draft! ...... so..... I went mono white AND WON! haha. I was happy to see that there was no red in the finals, as I played a U/B control deck in the final round. I first picked Grafted Wargear, then some mediocre white cards, I think pick 2 was a Mistral Charger and pick 3 was an Otherworldly Journey. However, there was hardly any white in pack 1, so I cut it pretty hard. I got heavily rewarded in packs 2 and 3 and was able to get a mono white brew together. Here's the list I went 3-0 and won the finals with:
As for the cards I added in the other day, I was able to play Emerge Unscathed. I personally loved it. I was able to protect my creatures, especially Mother of Runes from removal and I do remember one instance where I used it to kill a creature in combat. I thought the card was great and I'd always play it. So it's nice to see that red wasn't around in the finals this time. This was the first win for a major white deck so I think that's a good sign for the cube. Anyways, it was a fun night and I'm glad mono white tokens made a stand!
Hey everybody! I got an 8-man draft together last night at my local card shop. Everyone was super excited to play and the draft went very well. Everyone enjoyed their decks and it was a fun draft. I made it to the finals with a pretty sweet U/B control deck, but lost in a tight game 3 to a Bant List. Here's the Bant deck that won last night:
Not only was the cube awesome last night, my buddy's surprise Christmas gift was pretty awesome as well. My buddy asked me, "Hey D.Brown, if you had a Force of Will, would you play it in your cube." Of course I said yes. He said, "I'll be right back." He went to his binder, took it out, and handed it to me. He was like, "For the sake of the cube!" Haha. So I got a Force of Will last night to add in.
Yeah I agree with you there. I remember him missing a couple of times in our finals match. Yeah Force is definitely just a cool card, but it's nice to have it in the cube. Everyone always asks me if it's in there, so now I can say yes! haha.
Hey everyone! I got a Wednesday evening 8-man cube draft to fire. I went 2-1 with a U/R deck, losing in round 2 to a U/B deck. The finals last night was between a Mono Red deck and the U/B deck. Mono Red won in game 3 on the back of a Stormblood Berserker equipped with Lightning Greaves! It was a great cube and had a lot of fun matches. Here's the red deck:
I just made some changes to the cube. It can be seen in the OP. I decided to cut most of the reanimator package. I personally feel that there is just not enough fatties (at least ones I'd want to play) available in a peasant cube. I ended up cutting some of the reanimate spells, leaving a few in there because reanimate is still good on it's own merit. I cut Pathrazer of Ulamog because 11 is usually unreachable in most games. I cut Faithless Looting and Careful Study, for another aggressive red creature and a blue card that I thought looked efficient and fun to play (Opt). The other changes were just to refine the cube and cut lackluster cards. As well as try out others.. I'm looking at you Phyrexian Reclamation and Patagia Viper. Hopefully these changes work out well!
What's up everyone! I got a 6 man cube draft to fire yesterday at around 6pm. We finished the draft and my buddy came up to me and said, "Let's run it back?". So we drafted it a second time! The first draft I went Esper Control, had a really nice list, but lost to this deck in the finals:
