Well guys... it's been a fun run for a while, but I've finally decided to cash out my foiled sliver decks and move on. Thanks for all the input on the deck and the fun that I've had.

You might want to get more draw power for the deck. Kindred Discovery is really good for wizard tribal if you can get a copy of it (it's in the dragon precon deck). Since with it every time your wizard card ETBs and trigger Eminence, you get 2 cards, then attack with your hasted token to net 1 more card.
Yeah, I do like that card and I'm keeping an eye out for it! I wish it was a may card, but I still think it's really good. I'll have to keep an eye out for it as it does net some really good card advantage really quickly.
Dualcaster has too many combos ranging from infinite mana to card draw to tutoring to creatures... practically everything haha. I left a lot of the combos off the list because some more than 3 cards to pull off, but it's very realistic for a lot of them to be pulled off.

As I've wanted to build clone decks historically, having clone-on-demand of the creature entering the battlefield built into the commander was a real treat. The second I saw this decklist, I knew it was something I would have to brew. The purpose of this deck is to be multiplayer. I've built the deck to be something that can be flexibly played based on the mood and type of playgroup that you have. You don't have to combo out every game, but you certainly can! I'd love your help in tweaking the deck to the ultimate decklist and getting this thing ready to go! You'll notice that there are suboptimal cards in some slots - the reason for this is when it comes to EDH, flavor of the deck is important to me. Still make the recommendations that you have though!

1 - Linear decks can out pace it in the first few turns
2 - not many people play the deck
3 - its biggest weakness are fast aggressive decks which seem to be popular at large events.

You have to prepare for it and play around/through it. Balanced decklists will do that. Sure, they'll win some sometimes, but that's just the way it goes.
Playing teams can put a lot of pressure on the combo player. We also realize that we all have different decks and sometimes the combo deck gets played and that's fine because it's a different style and it keeps things interesting. I personally don't enjoy 3.5 hour games where we all become the strongest player at some point and eventually someone wins the game. Those are less fun than being combo'd out on turn 4.
Nov 17, 2016I was in a combo heavy meta at one point and played a variant that run Relic of Progenitus, Spellskite, and Aether Vial in the main with Thirst for Knowledge. It worked pretty well since I could dig for those silver bullets and ditch them when not needed.Posted in: Tier 2 (Modern)
Having said that, it wasn't balanced and I would only run it in a very specific meta. I agree with Mehgic at this point that Spellskite is quite easily handled and doesn't have the strong impact that it once had.

Some may work in sideboards, some in the main of some metas... but just looking at all the instant speed options that we have to semi-control the board while we're building up land for our combo. I'm tempted to play Peek in this deck as the instant speed card draw that several people have toyed around with. I would prefer Opt, but alas... it's not legal. If only.

Also didn't realise Harmonic was a "must" destroy enchantment or Artifact and so would could hit yourself if the opponent had no targets so thanks again.
Going to tune some more before I play again.
Being able to drop him and alpha strike is pretty powerful against a lot of decks. Just because you have him doesn't mean you have to drop him turn 2.
